What Is RR X-Ray?
RR X-Ray is a Resource Pack that makes all non-valuable filler blocks completely transparent, so every ore in the Overworld and Nether is visible at a glance. Stone, deepslate, dirt, netherrack — all invisible. Diamonds, iron, gold, emeralds, ancient debris — all glowing through the cave walls.
The big difference from most X-Ray packs: this one uses only blocks.json to set block shapes to "invisible" — a vanilla resource pack feature that does not trigger experimental mode. That means achievements stay fully active. You can use it on your survival world without losing your advancement progress.
Achievements Stay Active
Most X-Ray methods — commands, script-based addons, or enabling Experimental features — disable achievements for the world permanently. RR X-Ray uses only blocks.json with "blockshape": "invisible" — a standard resource pack feature. No experiments, no scripts, no behavior changes. Your achievements, advancements, and world progress all stay intact.
What You Can See
Every ore and valuable block remains fully visible through the transparent filler:
Chests, spawners, end portal frames, and all structure blocks also remain fully visible — making this pack useful for dungeon and structure hunting as well.
Blocks Made Invisible
These 40 filler blocks are set to "blockshape": "invisible" — they still exist and function normally, they just render as transparent:
Overworld (26):
Nether (12):
Other (2):
How It Works
The pack uses two files. The main one is blocks.json, which assigns "blockshape": "invisible" to 40 filler block types. This is a standard Bedrock Resource Pack feature — it tells the renderer to skip drawing those block faces while keeping the blocks physically present. No scripts, no behavior files, no experimental toggles required.
The second file is a small hud_screen.json modification that overlays a very faint white layer (6% opacity) across the HUD — a subtle brightness boost that makes ores easier to spot in completely dark caves.
Invisible blocks still have collision, drop items when mined, and behave normally in every way. The transparency is purely a rendering change — blocks still exist and function exactly as in vanilla.
