What is Auto Torch?
Auto Torch is a Minecraft Bedrock addon that automatically lights up dark areas as you explore. The addon checks your light level every 2 seconds. When light drops below 7 — the threshold where mobs can spawn — the addon automatically activates lighting to keep you safe and visible.
In Free Mode, you get Night Vision applied as an effect when underground. In Pro Mode, you unlock 3 full lighting modes, a live light level display on your action bar, mob spawn warnings, a light toggle, and detailed stats. Torch Mode even places torches from your actual inventory, meaning the lights stay permanent even after you leave.
This is a Behavior Pack only addon — no Resource Pack needed. Just install and walk into any cave.

Pro Mode also checks: if light level is below 4, a mob spawn warning fires. The action bar always shows your current light level, mode, and ON/OFF status.

Switch between modes anytime using Sneak + Use Compass. Switching modes automatically cleans up old Light Blocks.
Action Bar Display (Pro)
Pro Mode shows a live status display on your action bar every 2 seconds so you always know your current light situation:
Red warning fires when light drops below 4 — the point where hostile mobs can spawn even in the latest versions.

Note: A Torch is used for the Pro unlock because this addon is all about lighting — just like a torch!
How To Unlock Pro Mode
- Get a Torch item in your inventory.
- Hold the Torch in your main hand.
- Hold Sneak (Shift on PC / Sneak button on Mobile).
- While sneaking, Use the Torch (Right Click on PC / Tap on Mobile).
- A panel opens asking for the Secret Key.
- Enter the key exactly as shown below, then press Submit.
- Pro Mode unlocks permanently for that world!

How To Install
- Download the .mcpack file using the download button below.
- Tap or click the file. Minecraft will open and import the Behavior Pack automatically.
- Create a new world or edit an existing one.
- Go to Settings > Experiments and enable Beta APIs.
- Add the Behavior Pack to your world.
- Enter the world and walk into any dark cave — Auto Torch activates instantly!

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does this addon cause lag?
No. The addon only checks light levels once every 2 seconds and has a hard limit of 50 Light Blocks per player. It is optimized to work on all devices including lower-end Android phones without any performance impact.
Q: Will Light Blocks stay in my world forever?
No. Light Blocks placed by Block Mode are temporary. They are removed automatically when you leave the world, when you switch modes, or when the 50 block limit is reached and older blocks get replaced. Only Torches placed in Torch Mode are permanent because they are real torch blocks.
Q: Does it work on the surface at night?
Free Mode only works underground — it checks for solid blocks above you before activating. Pro Mode works anywhere the light level drops below 7, including the surface at night, the Nether, and the End. This is one of the key Pro advantages.
Q: What if I run out of torches in Torch Mode?
The addon checks your inventory before placing. If you have no torches, nothing happens — no error, no crash. Switch to Vision Mode or Block Mode if you run out. You can always switch back to Torch Mode later when you refill your inventory.
Q: Does it work in the Nether and End?
Yes! The addon works in all three dimensions — Overworld, Nether, and End. Pro Mode works everywhere that light drops below 7. Free Mode may not activate in the Nether since it checks for solid blocks overhead, but Pro Mode handles all dark environments.
Q: Do I need a Resource Pack?
No! Auto Torch is a Behavior Pack only addon. There is no Resource Pack needed. This makes it one of the lightest addons at only 15 KB and the easiest to install — just one pack and you are done.
Q: When does the mob spawn warning trigger?
The mob spawn warning fires in Pro Mode when your light level drops below 4. In the current Minecraft versions, light level 0 is required for mob spawning, but the warning at level 4 gives you early notice to react before things get dangerous. The warning shows in your action bar.
