[MCPE 1.21+] RR Spider Hook Addon: Web Swinging & Grappling Gun (Physics Script)
Traversing the infinite terrain of Minecraft can often feel tedious. Sprinting across plains, slowly climbing towering mountains block by block, or building dirt pillars to reach high places—it all takes time and effort. While the Elytra offers flight, it is an endgame item that requires defeating the Ender Dragon.
But what if you could traverse your world with the agility of a superhero right from the start? Introducing the RR Spider Hook Addon. This script completely reimagines the humble Fishing Rod, transforming it into a high-tech, physics-based grappling gun. With this addon, the world becomes your playground as you swing from tree to tree and scale cliffs in seconds.
This post delves into the advanced mechanics of this addon, including the custom 3D sound engine, the physics of the "Mob Pulling" feature, and how you can unlock the unlimited capabilities of the Pro Mode.
The Physics and Sound Engine
Creating a grappling hook in Minecraft Bedrock Edition is difficult because the game does not natively support complex rope physics. However, the RR Spider Hook uses a clever workaround involving velocity vectors and ray casting.
Advanced Web Swing Mechanics
When you fire the hook, the script calculates the distance and angle to the target block. It then applies a powerful velocity impulse to your character in that direction. But unlike basic "teleportation" scripts, this applies actual momentum.
- Slow Falling Safety: One major issue with grappling mods is fall damage. To solve this, I programmed an automatic "Slow Falling" effect that triggers the moment you are airborne. This ensures you can swing from massive heights and land softly without losing a single heart.
- 3D Audio Experience: Immersion is key. I have layered three distinct sound effects that play dynamically. You will hear the mechanical "Thwip" of the web releasing, followed by a wind "Whoosh" as you fly through the air. It feels incredibly cinematic.
Features: Free Mode vs Pro Mode
To ensure balanced gameplay for survival servers, the addon features a progression system.
1. Free Mode (Rookie Suit)
This is the default mode available immediately upon crafting a Fishing Rod.
- Limited Range: The hook has a maximum effective range of 25 blocks. This is perfect for navigating forests or climbing small hills.
- Cooldown System: After every swing, the web shooter needs to recharge. You will experience a 3-second cooldown before you can fire again.
- Restriction: The advanced "Mob Pull" feature is disabled in this mode.
2. Pro Mode (Web Master)
Unlock the full potential of the physics engine with Pro Mode.
- Infinite Range: The range limit increases to 80 blocks. You can target distant mountain peaks and launch yourself across massive ravines in a single swing.
- Rapid Fire: The cooldown is completely removed. You can chain swings together to stay airborne indefinitely, moving faster than Creative Mode flight.
- Mob Pulling (PVP): This is the game-changer. You can target entities (mobs or players) and pull them towards you. This is devastating in PVP or for moving villagers.
Visual Demonstration
Here is the addon in action. Notice the smooth transition between the ground and the air as the player swings through the mountains.
And here is the Rapid Fire capability in Pro Mode. You can see how quickly the player can travel without touching the ground.
Mob Pulling Feature
Exclusive to Pro Mode, the Mob Pull feature allows you to play aggressively. Instead of launching yourself, the physics engine reverses the vector, launching the target towards you.
How to Unlock Pro Mode
To upgrade your Fishing Rod into the ultimate Web Shooter, you need to access the secret configuration menu inside the game.
Unlock Instructions:
- Equip the Fishing Rod in your main hand.
- Crouch (Sneak) on the ground. This is a safety measure to prevent accidental menu opening.
- While crouching, Use Item (Right Click / Long Press) on the screen.
- Enter the secure access code in the text box:
After submitting the code WEB_MASTER (ensure all letters are capitalized), you will see an "ACCESS GRANTED" notification. Your cooldowns will be removed, and the range will be extended immediately.

Installation & Requirements
The Spider Hook relies on the Script API to handle the velocity calculations. It is critical that you enable the correct settings before loading your world.
- Download the .mcpack file from the link below.
- Import the file into Minecraft and apply the Behavior Pack.
- Navigate to World Settings > Experiments.
- Turn ON "Beta APIs". If this is off, the hook will just function as a normal fishing rod.
Download Section
The file is optimized for mobile performance. The script is lightweight and does not cause TPS drops, even when spamming the hook.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need to wear specific armor?
No. Unlike other superhero mods that require a full suit, this script binds the ability directly to the Fishing Rod item. You can use it while wearing any armor or no armor at all.
2. Is it compatible with Multiplayer?
Yes. Each player tracks their own cooldowns and states independently. It is perfect for "Grappling Hook Races" or PVP battles on SMP servers.
3. Why do I still take damage sometimes?
The "Slow Falling" effect triggers when you launch. If you swing very high and then let go, the effect might wear off before you hit the ground. In Pro Mode, simply fire the hook at the ground again before landing to reset your fall damage.
