RR Item Magnet Addon: Auto Collect Drops & Mining Loot (Script API)

Mining in Minecraft can be a tedious process. You break a block of diamond ore, and the gem flies into a pool of lava. You chop down a massive tree, and half the saplings fall off the cliff edge. Or perhaps you are farming mobs for XP, and you have to run around in circles just to pick up the rotten flesh and bones scattered everywhere. The vanilla collection radius is simply too small for efficient gameplay.

To solve this frustration, I have developed the RR Item Magnet Addon. This is a highly optimized script for Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.21+ that allows you to pull items towards you using magnetic physics. By simply crouching (sneaking), you activate a magnetic field that drags all nearby items directly into your inventory. No more running around, no more losing loot to the void.

In this post, I will break down the technical mechanics of the magnet script, the difference between the Free and Pro ranges, and how to use the custom settings interface.

How the Magnetic Field Works

Unlike simple "teleportation" mods that instantly zap items into your inventory (which looks unnatural), the RR Item Magnet uses velocity vectors. When the script detects that the player is sneaking, it scans the surrounding area for entities of type `minecraft:item`.

Once identified, the script applies a directional force to these items, pulling them smoothly through the air towards the player. This creates a satisfying visual effect where the loot literally flies to you. It is perfect for:

• Strip Mining: Collect ores instantly without walking over them.
• Skyblock: Catch items before they fall into the void.
• Mob Grinding: Stand in one spot and collect loot from a distance.

Features: Free Mode vs Pro Mode

To keep the addon balanced for different playstyles, I have separated the functionality into two tiers based on the magnetic range.

1. Standard Magnet (Free Mode)

This is the default mode available to everyone immediately upon installation.

• 5 Block Radius: Perfect for collecting items in small rooms or mining tunnels.
• Sneak Activation: The magnet only turns on when you crouch, giving you control over when to pull items.
• Action Bar Status: A clean text display above your hotbar tells you if the magnet is ON or OFF.

2. Industrial Magnet (Pro Mode)

For players who need maximum efficiency, the Pro Mode unlocks the full potential of the script.

• Extended Range (Up to 15 Blocks): Creates a massive vacuum that clears entire rooms of loot instantly.
• Custom Range Slider: You can adjust the range to 5, 8, 10, 12, or 15 blocks depending on your needs.
• Statistics Tracking: The Pro menu tracks exactly how many items you have magnetically collected.
• High-Speed Pull: Items travel faster towards you, reducing collection time.

The Settings Interface

I have moved away from chat commands to a modern User Interface (UI). You can access the settings menu using standard items.

General Settings Panel

To toggle the magnet or check your status:

1. Hold an Iron Ingot in your hand.
2. Crouch (Sneak) and Use Item (Long Press).
3. The main configuration panel will open.

Pro Range Selection

Once unlocked, you can access the Range Selection menu to fine-tune your magnet's power. This is useful if you want to pull items from a specific distance without grabbing everything in the entire chunk.

How to Unlock Pro Mode

To upgrade your magnet, you need to enter the secret key into the authentication panel.

1. Hold a Name Tag in your hand.
2. Crouch and Use Item (Long Press).

Installation & Requirements

This addon utilizes the Minecraft Script API to detect player sneaking and manipulate entity velocity. It is extremely optimized but requires experimental features.

1. Download the .mcpack file from the button below.
2. Import the file into Minecraft and activate the Behavior Pack.
3. Go to World Settings > Experiments.
4. Turn ON "Beta APIs". This is mandatory for the magnet logic to work.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does it work on Servers/Realms?
Yes. The script tracks each player independently. If you crouch, items only fly to you, not to other players nearby. It is fully multiplayer compatible.

2. Does it pick up XP Orbs?
This addon focuses specifically on "Items" (blocks, tools, drops). XP Orbs have their own vanilla mechanics for attraction, so I did not modify them to prevent lag.

3. Will items fly through walls?
Items will try to move towards you directly. If there is a solid wall, they will get stuck against it. This is normal behavior to prevent items from glitching out of the world.
